Worship leader Troy Mitchell’s debut album, “Yoke of the King,” brings a fresh and authentic voice to Messianic Judaism. Mitchell’s original songs draw from the Gospels, the Hebrew of the Tanach, the Midrash, synagogue prayers, and first-century liturgy—even utilizing the Greek of the Apostolic Scriptures—to bring a fusion of Chassidic joy, gospel hope, jazz, and soulish prayer focused on the light of Messiah.

What happens when faith and fun collide? The results are both meaningful and hilarious.

Who couldn't pay attention to the story of the Exodus told to the song, "Do You Believe In Torah?" set to the tune of the Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe In Magic"? How about an irresistible remake of "Rawhide" in conjunction with rolling the Torah scroll? Or, a nice round of, "Keeping Torah's A Joy To Do" courtesy of Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do". And, of course, we all resonate about how "Dumb, Dumb, Dumb" it is for pastor to throw the Torah away while giving kudos to the Beach Boy's "Fun, Fun, Fun"!

This audio CD contains a cappella table songs to accompany the Meal of Messiah, sung by Troy Mitchell. These Messianic zemirot come from both ancient and modern Jewish and Christian tradition.

The companion music cd includes carefully selected songs that integrate into the Haggadah, with music from both Messianic and contemporary Christian artists. All the songs provide opportunities for rich and heartfelt worship and contemplation, for individuals, congregations, and ministries to tailor the Passover Encounter service according to worship preference.
